Web hosting is something that more and more people look in to and something that is also changing a lot these days.

In this post I will tell you about my experience about Surftown.

I started using Suftown many years back (4 years i believe) and till now i still use them for most of our domain hosting. At the beginning i choice Surftown based on price and what i got for that. I believe at that point they offered the most storage and no bandwidth limits and i thought then that that was the most important thing to have.

Surftown offers a lot for the price you pay. Things like storage, tools, email, pop and so on are no problem at all. Till now I can say that Surftown also on the part of reliability seem to do a good job. OK services go down once in a while but normally they are up and running again before you even have a changes to contact the customer service department.

But let’s talk a bit about the customer service department. The Customer Service department from Surftown is going down from the day I joined them. The main contact with customer service is by support tickets and that means that normally you will not talk to a person but just type you messages. In the beginning there response where quick and solved the minor issues i had. But lately things are slow some times it takes a day or so for them to respond and often they give you an standard answer without even reading you message. And for me that made it happen that a new site was down for 3 days because of a stupid rights issue that i could not solve from my side.

And because my sites are my main source of income i change hoster for my new site (like this one) to Hostgator
and that solved those issues.

My conclusion. Surftown is a good hoster with a good package of options for a low price I still use Surftown for most of my services and will probably do for years to come. But if you need a lot of support from your hosting provider i would say look on but other wise check Surftown because the offer a lot for little money.
